Excerpt from Die Zauberflöte, this aria is presented on two staves, in bass clef for Papageno's voice (baritone), in octava treble clef for the glockenspiel. Popular music has very short values (written ornamentation) up to the quadruple eighth note. It will be very interesting to hear the aria because, if the three verses are identical, the introductions are varied each time: we know that Mozart liked to play the glockenspiel part himself and we can imagine that these variations are born from improvisations in which he indulged for fun.
