Choral extract from the cantata BWV 147 by Johann-Sebastien BACH, universally known, always renewed pleasure for both the listener and the chorister. The cantata provides an orchestra composed in particular of an oboe, the string quartet and the continuo. Accompaniment being essential, the Oiseau d'Or offers an more accessible version which requires only a reduced number of personnel, without however distorting the work: the upper part to be played by a violin (or several) or an oboe, the bass part to be entrusted to the cello with possibly the double bass, and a keyboard part synthesizing the second violin, the viola and the continuo.(automatic translation)
